Hello, my name is Sylvanye "Sam" Roh and I am happy to be associated with Canyon Studios.

My work as a designer and glass artisan began several years ago when I decided to leave the corporate world and set up a home studio to make one-of-a-kind glass jewelry, vases, clocks, desktop items (letter-openers, bookmarks, etc.) using two or more pieces of fusible dichroic and art glass.   I use fine silver and sterling silver with fused glass to create unique but functional jewelry, designed to please discriminating buyers.

Dichroic glass and art glass come in a variety of colors, shades, textures and patterns with transparent and opaque blends from which I make stunning new color combinations and custom blends.

I also create three dimensional wall art, wall tiles and clocks with textures and designs that appeal to the touch.  All of my pieces are hand-cut and fused in a kiln for 12 to 16 hours.  Some pieces may require several firings to get the desired effect.

In addition to teaching a beginner glass fusing class, I conduct advanced level classes designed to take advantage of art, dichroic and iridescent type glass.  The process of slumping, draping, mold making, glass embossing, stenciling, painting with enamels, or just a few of the techniques taught.

My work with glass is both challenging and rewarding.  The learning process is never ending and the opportunity to explore new ideas is ever present in all my endeavors.  I enjoy sharing my love of glass, silversmithing and artistic talent with others through demonstrations and classes I conduct throughout the year.
